We are talking about Lahaul, which is a small district located in the state of Himachal Pradesh, known as Lahaul-Spiti. It is also referred to as the “Cold Desert.” On October 3, 2020, the Atal Tunnel, India’s highest tunnel with a length of approximately 9 kilometers, was inaugurated. Prior to its opening, communication from Lahaul to Kullu was only possible through the Rohtang Pass. However, after the construction of the Atal Tunnel, tourism in Lahaul has been steadily increasing. People from different parts of the country and abroad are being mesmerized by the beauty and culture of Lahaul. In the midst of this, Sushma from Thangthang village in Lahaul has transformed her grandfather’s traditional mud house into a homestay. Visitors from across the globe are experiencing the essence of living in these old houses in Lahaul and taking back beautiful memories.

About the hike- Thi Hill Peak near Sissu:

Reaching The Base Point at 6 PM on Saturday

1. After crossing the Atal Tunnel from Manali, you have to head straight to Shooling Village ( 15 mins ahead of Sissu Village)
2. Look for the Sign Board towards right- Towards Thang-Thang Village for 120 Years Old Ancient Mud-House Homestay.
3. Take the offroad for next 10 minutes and you will arrive at our 120 Years Old Traditional Mud House for reception.
4. We will be serving Traditional Local Snacks on your arrival

–Stay in 120 Years Old Ancient Lahauli Mud House:

1. You will be experiencing the stay at 120 Years Old Mud House.
2. We will serve the Local Traditional food in Dinner.

-Wake up at 5:00 am and start for the hike:

1. We will start with the hike towards the Thi-Hill Peak surrounded by mesmerizing views of Glaciers of Lahaul at 5 a.m. in the morning. Drinks/Refreshments will be served.
2. On your way, meet the Local farmers and feel the Countryside vibe.

– Hike for 3 Kms , reaching Shepherd’s Meadows- ThanaGot:

1. We will reach the Grasslands of Shepherds and will take break for the Traditional Yummy Snacks like Sattu with Butter ( which keeps you strong & Healthy and helps you avoid dehydration)
2.  Listen the glorious Story of Lahauli Nomads & Sushma will inveil the story behind the “Thi Hill Peak”

– Hike for 2 Kms , reaching our final destination- Thi-Hill Peak :

1. Enjoy the peaceful & tranquility of the place and we will be serving your breakfast in a Traditional style
2. We will be cooking Lunch for you right there while you enjoy the view.
3. Have an amazing Lunch while enjoying the local stories.

– Return to Mud House at 4 PM:

1. After a full hiking day & listening to stories behind these places Its time to head back to our base point- Mud House .
2. Refresh yourself with Tea & snacks and Stay for a Night to rock the Lahauli style Music & Dance.
